Redwoods are Tall

<== Delicious breakfast to start our day off right...

And before long, we're finally in California! ==>

<== Sometimes the drive is foggy... but it's mostly because we're cloud surfing...

Taking a little bit of time to pose by the beach... ==>

<== Turkey vultures are just hanging out with us...

Soon, we reach Redwood National Forest... the drive becomes a drive beneath coastal giants... ==>

<== These are coastal redwoods, which are different than the sequoias we will see later on. Coastal redwoods are the tallest trees on earth, reaching almost 400ft. Sequoias are more massive and have larger diameters.

These trees inspire awe... ==>

<== And you can't help but speak in whispers as you walk amongst them...

They grow in clusters, like giant fingers from a hand beneath the earth... ==>

<== They have a very regal quality about them....

A moment between two... ==>

<== Some look like they are forests supported by a trunk... this is the Big Tree...

Many are actually hollow on the inside! They are trees who have been damaged by fire, but are still alive... ==>

<== Even after this much damage, these trees are still green and thriving...

Which is why you can drive through one!! ==>

<== Maybe the best photo of the 5 of us? You decide!

And as dusk sets on the forest, we have to make our way out... ==>

<== Through the Avenue of the Giants we drive...

Ps. At some point Edward got into a Dutch Coffee stand and made me a peach smoothie... what a guy!
